Ink In Thirds
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
PROSE – submit up to 500 words max (in one document).
POETRY – submit up to 3 poems (in one document), no longer than 30 lines each. Please separate titles on submission form with semicolons.
PHOTOGRAPHY – We are looking for high-resolution photos. Some guidelines for print:
- all photos must be a minimum of 300 dpi
- minimum requirements for cover photo or interior 2550 x 3300 pixels = 8.5 x 11 print (300 dpi)
- minimum requirements for full-page spread 5100 x 3300 pixels = 17 x 11 print (300 dpi)
We want vivid imagery. Even in photos. Move us with your shots. Links to websites or online portfolios also welcome. We’d love to peruse what you have available.
Rights – Ink in Thirds acquires First Publication Rights but you, the writer, still own your work. We hold the publication rights for 30 days after our issue publication. After 30 days, you are free to publish and submit your work elsewhere. We also maintain Non-exclusive Archival Rights, so we may continue to archive your work in our digital issues. If your work is published elsewhere in the future, please give a nod to Ink in Thirds as the first place it appeared.
General Guidelines – WE DO NOT ACCEPT PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK. Any work that has been posted or otherwise made publicly available online is considered to have been “previously published.” This includes blogs and social media sites. We do, however, accept simultaneous submissions. We write, too, and understand the process required to get your work published. Now go, get out there! Just be kind enough to let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Multiple Submissions – Please submit only one form for each Prose and Poetry at a time. We will read all submissions in the order in which they are received and will respond as fast as humanly possible. We want to give each submission the time and consideration that they deserve.
If you are a member of Duotrope, it would be a kindness if you would list this submission experience there.
